A Tribute To Kalki

Kalki – A very unique name that made Tamil and Tamils proud. Kalki is the nom de plume of Ra.Krishnamurthi(1899-1954). He don many roles, as a Writer, Critic, Active participant of Indian Freedom Struggle, Sub-Editor of Navasakthi, Anandha Vikadan, and the Founder and Editor of Tamil periodical Kalki. His historic fiction novels viz., Parthiban Kananvu, Sivagamiyin Sabadham and Ponniyin Selvan conquered(and still conquering) many hearts. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award posthumously for his novel Alai Osai.

I am being addicted to his novel and his style which, mesmerizes the readers and ‘kidnaps’ us to historic era, brings the characters from past, gives life to them and makes us to live with them! 🙂 Its a wonderful experience to see the past! I want to put my experiences with Kalki in just a lines as,

Reading Kalki’s creations is 1000 times better than seeing a 4D movie.

He makes us feel the pain of the characters and enjoy the happiness and sorrows of love, lovers, patriotism of a lay man to patriotism of a king, kindles the love for art and much more 🙂 His depiction of female characters are the best! His comparisons are non pareil. A tribute to this great man,
